Pre Construction Video Documentation, Winter Weather Conditions & Their Impact on Video Documentation, 01-16-26

Pre Construction Video Documentation
Winter Weather Pre Construction
Everything You Need to Know, 01-16-26

Today won’t be a recap of a recent Pre Construction project but, more or less, an overview of the Pre Construction process during the winter months and in the face of inclement weather.

All PRO USA strives to capture the most meticulous and deliberate video documentation possible. This means coordinating with the Project Manger to ensure the most up to date project parameters and to ensure that all important landmarks, features, and abutments including residential and personal property and roadways along the project pathway are documented both accurately and safely. Obviously, inclement weather, can make that harder to achieve. Rain, sleet, snow and other hazardous weather conditions may endanger the safety of both the documentation crew, construction crew and any nearby pedestrians, so it’s important to pay extra close attention to weather reports in the lead up to any job.

Putting safety concerns aside for a moment (which we’ll only do theoretically for this particular exercise, never in practice), obscuring weather conditions like snow and ice can result in an inaccurate representation of the project pathway and any areas of special interest or concern that might ordinarily standout to our crew. Examples include: utility markers or driveway and sidewalk fissures concealed by snow, property lines or lower elevation roadways and crossings submerged in water, etc.

In short, while All PRO USA works year-round’ producing dynamic Construction, Pre Construction, Training, Safety and Aerial Drone Videography, winter and the resulting weather conditions can produce complications for both the team and Project Managers reviewing the finished video product. That’s why we don’t recommend backburnering or cancelling any video documentation, which is extremely important, but being more mindful of atmospheric conditions that may complicate the process or result in a less-than-accurate representation of the Pre Construction conditions.

While not always possible, we prefer cloud free skies and low to no precipitation to ensure that our Post or pre construction videography is as clear and accurate as possible. On the day of a Video Project, we like to contact the project manager to double check that all relevant video on the pathway is properly visualized. Once we return to our editing studio, we complete the project by checking the project info for accuracy of date recorded, direction of travel, geographic location and other invaluable data. After completion, the project coordinator receives both a digital and hard copy, via USB drive, of the finished product.

ALL PRO USA takes great pride in our reputation and nothing makes us happier than receiving positive feedback and/or additional assignments from repeat customers. Construction Videography is a crucial component for our customers and owners and it is important to make sure it is done on time and done right. ALL PRO USA provides professional pre- construction video to anywhere on the East Coast or West Coast and everywhere in-between.
